My Background
My name is Karin Valentine Matlock. I have been singing and playing piano for most of my life. I received my music degree from Eastern Michigan University and have been teaching piano for over 35 years, with over 20 years in the Valrico area.

When I am asked why I teach music, my answer has five parts:
- Music is a science
- Music is mathematical
- Music is a foreign language
- Music is physical education
- Music is art, most of all
My Lessons

My Lessons
I teach weekly, 30-minute, 1-on-1 piano lessons, for ages five years to adult. Lessons are held in my home studio.
The methods used include theory (the writing part of music).
